The announcement text: |
Sick of hearing about Java and .Net? Bored at work? Tired of bureaucracy and corporate bullshit? We have the medicine. Try the fun and exciting world of peer to peer content distribution. Work on tough theoretical and practical problems, in unconventional software stacks, with real languages, like C. No pluses, even. Take on massively parallel software architectures, decentralized control systems, self-organizing communities, emergent behaviours in distributed systems. All while working for a fun business (with Fortune 100 customers) that`s actually growing in this economy (and not bad on your resume either).
What are some good indicators this is the job for you?
* You can appreciate the humor in Gnutella`s architecture. Comparatively, Freenet is fascinating.
* Gcc is your bitch.
* You enjoy solving complicated problems by thinking about them (as much as experimenting, debugging, or throwing things at the wall is fun too).
* You know TCP/IP down to the bits. Packet sniffers used to be fun, now they`re boring.
* You`ve got some experience with scalability engineering.
* You know how not to destroy your MySQL while still running hundreds of statements per second.
* You`re competitive; if it`s contest, you`ll win.
If this sounds like you, give us a call. Why write boring code when you don`t have to? :)
BTW - we know it`s tempting to ignore the notice, but we really do only want to hear directly from people interested in the job. If you are a recruiter, agent, or other 3rd party, please do not contact us. You will only be wasting both your time and ours.
Compensation: DOE
Principals only. Recruiters, please don`t contact this job poster.
Please, no phone calls about this job!
Please do not contact job poster about other services, products or commercial interests.
